this one works well with sterling silver, silver plated and copper wire too :nod:

I love oxidizing with egg, it's just so much easier and cheaper than the liver of sulphur and all that jazz. Plus it's a lot easier to come by =D Nice simple tutorial, very easy to follow for beginners. I must say though, I don't wait a day, I find that in 30 minutes - 2 hours it's as black as that. And I use a polishing cloth for mine (I'd be too scared to use steel wool, I think I'd scratch the silver up too much... ours I wager isn't fine enough).

:D Isn't it cool, kitchen chemistry?

I remember my grandmother teaching me when I was really young never to set the table with silverware serving utensils when we were having egg dishes or mayonnaise base sauces or anything like that. I guess most people don't use silverware these days, so they don't always know? :)
